Dedicated to You Having a Fantastic Real Estate Experience!
First, let me just say, it's not at all about me! It's about you, and helping you find your niche' in Austin; a place to raise your family, retire, or enjoy the single lifestyle. Austin has so much to offer you!
I've lived in Austin over 35 years, and have been a Realtor since 2007. There are so many reasons why I'm still in Austin. Before choosing Austin, I traveled the world, and lived in 12 different places, and in 6 different states. I know this city now, as the cliche' goes, "like the back of my hand", and I will put that experience to help you and/or your family find a wonderful home. (Want to know a "cut-thru" town and not get stuck on Mopac or IH 35?--Turn off your GPS, and call me now!)
My degrees are from the University of Texas and Kansas State, and I worked in laboratory medicine for over 25 years (and did cancer research at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston), helping people with their health care needs. My passion is creative design, and that is the primary reason I am in Austin. I love the outdoors, (second reason), was a first class Girl Scout (like an Eagle Scout, but for girls), and my nature is calm, friendly, creative, sarcastic and detail orientated.
Austin is a hub of creativity. People who think "outside the box" really do love it here. Whether your passion is architecture, the outdoors, nature parks & trails, museums, or computers, you can fulfill it in Austin. Apple, Dell, Samsung, AMD, 3M, Applied Material, Motorola, HomeAway, Google and Facebook are all here for a reason! Austin offers a lifestyle that attracts creative people, no matter what their passion is. Creativity grows exponentially with collaboration, and like-minded people gravitate toward like-minded people.
Austin has a home for you, too, and I want to help you find it. There are more fun filled adventures waiting for you than you can imagine. I must warn you, though, your "bucket" list will grow! But isn't that what life is about? Your experiences are what make you, "YOU"! So get ready to expand your horizons, your knowledge and your creativity!
You'll often hear "Keep Austin Weird". Like Forest Gump said in the movie, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you just never know what you are going to find!" The diversity is what makes Austin great! Whether your passion is biking, hiking, swimming, spelunking, boating, fishing, water skiing, visiting wineries, shopping, music or dining, it can all be found in old Waterloo, (which is what Austin used to be called--Sorry a little history lesson thrown in, too!)
There are 7 lakes on the Colorado River, a chain of lakes, called the Highland Lakes, three of which run thru Austin. There are so many fun-filled, water-related activities to experience, places to go and things to do, you'll never want to leave Austin until your own bucket list is complete! So, to help you get started with your Austin bucket list, I recommend adding the spring fed Hamilton and Barton Spring Pools, as well as the Bob Bullock Museum, the Texas Capitol, the Driscoll Hotel, the Umlauf Sculpture Garden, South By Southwest, the Austin City Limits Festival, the Zilker Park Festival of Lights and, of course, Soco, the West End and Sixth Street at night. Whew! You're going to be here awhile, too, just like me!
Whether you are Buying or Selling real estate, my enthusiasm, attention to the details, and my commitment to making your real estate experience unparalleled, will keep my name at the top of your list when it comes to Austin real estate.

I would love to work with Karen Choate again. I highly recommend her and her team.
Karen Choate gave me good advice regarding preparing my house for sale. Her recommendations were modest costing less than $7,000 for a $600,000 house. She recommended a contractor who did the work quickly and efficiently.
Once the fixing up was done she asked me to store some bulky furniture, and she brought in staging furniture that made the rooms look bigger. She used my paintings and nick-knacks to decorate the house beautifully. It never looked so good. During this time she also represented me in finding a new home in a nearby suburb.
When the house came on the market Karen talked to me each week about current pricing trends. She recommended modest reductions in price to move our property to the top of the MLS list when needed. She held several open houses, mailed over 1,000 notices to neighbors, and aggressively market the property.
Karen always goes above and beyond. I've seen her work multiple times and am always blown away by the level of service she provides.
Karen Choate was GREAT!
Peggy and Karen were fantastic. They were wiling to invest the time and effort to stage my home before listing. And asked the right questions and listened to answers when it came to understand what mattered most to me. They were also diligent in hosting a number of open houses, follow-up with buyers agents that toured my house and provided week
