The location for filming "Friday Night Lights", Pflugerville is home to the Pflugerville High School Panthers, Hendrickson High and John B. Connally High Schools. Founded by the John Pfluger family, Pfugerville has a rich history, and many of the Pfluger family still live here today.
Most of the city is located east of IH 35, and spreads east of the 130 Toll road. Almost landlocked between Round Rock to the north, and Austin to the south, Pflugerville's growth has been primarily east, where land is still available for new residential and commercial development.
A thriving city, Pflugerville ranks high on the affordability index, as well as Hutto, Taylor, Manor, Elgin, Buda and San Marcos. There are many new home communities under development in Pflugerville, and in the aforementioned cities.
