Home to the Cedar Chopper Festival, Cedar Park is the center of the largest grove of Red Juniper (red cedar) trees in central Texas. Once considered a "bedroom community" located northwest of Austin, Cedar Park has grown into a hub of activity, with diverse commercial and residential development, in its own right.
Serviced by Leander Independent School District, it ranks in the top 5 school districts in central Texas. The city has almost become landlocked between Austin and Leander though.
Home of the Cedar Park Stars hockey team, Cedar Park has one of the largest entertainment venues in northwest Austin, the HEB Cedar Park (Convention) Center.
